Renowned Yogi Sri Ravi Shankar says that 20 mins of Deep Relaxation has the same rejuvenation effects as 8 hours of sleep, but it’s effects run much deeper than that.
Immense rebalancing and healing can occur when the body enters into a deeply relaxed state – and not just on a physical level. – The beautiful state of conscious rest can also seem like an emotional make-over at the same time, as the body gives up the stories that it’s holding in tension patterns which afflict the system. I also used to personally come back around after a deep relaxation and feel like a new person! On a retreat you will go through this process several times and start to delight in the sense of progression you can feel, as you notice your mind becoming quieter, body feeling lighter and a deeper sense of profound rest in the depth of your being.
