A private yoga one-on-one session is more specifically designed to meet your individual needs in comparison to practicing in a class setting. Personal yoga sessions are also available as part of my bespoke holistic wellness coaching programmes.
Everyone has unique needs and unique physiology, and prior to our one-on-one sessions, I can take the time to consult with you and create sequences and plan postures accordingly.
One-on-one sessions can also be tremendously helpful if you are a newcomer to yoga, enabling you to gain a basic understanding of the practice and gain a greater awareness of your body and its functions and postural patterns.
A great deal of our body shape comes from the performance and efficiency of the organs within the body – this is an understanding which is intrinsic within Chinese Medicine so I feel fortunate that it also informs my yoga practice! And unfortunately this relationship is often not properly understood by others who seek to change shape according to muscle group conditioning.
That approach of muscle conditioning may work for some people to a degree but for most people, you must also “exercise” the internal organs – which affective yoga practice does – to ground and root a change.
In addition, one-on-one sessions can also be tremendously helpful if you are an existing student who wishes to explore in greater detail an area of practice in which you feel you may benefit from additional support – whether it’s postures, meditation, breath work, relaxation, or any of the other specialty areas in which I work.
